Sir András Schiff Performance Porgramme for Young Pianists Studies with Sir András Schiff, funded by the Henle patronage of the Günter Henle Stiftung
American pianist Anna Han is a laureate of many competitions, including the Naumburg Award, the National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Auditions, Hilton Head International Piano Competition, Juilliard Bachauer Competition, New York International Piano Competition, Music Academy of the West Concerto Competition and Salon de Virtuosi Grant.
Born in Arizona, she studied piano privately with Fei Xu for thirteen years before completing her Bachelor´s and Master´s degrees at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Robert McDonald, where she received both the prestigious Kovner Fellowship and the William Schuman Prize. She recently completed her Artist Diploma at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin as a student of Sir András Schiff and Schaghajegh Nostrati.
Recent engagements have included performances at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland, Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance (LAMP) in Nova Scotia, Piano Salon Christophori at Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Saal, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, National Concert Hall of Taipei and at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying). Since her debut with the Chandler Symphony Orchestra aged 11, where she performed Liszt´s Piano Concerto No 1, she has played eleven different concerti with orchestras. She has also premiered multiple compositions and recorded for the Steinway and Sons label.
An avid chamber musician, she is a returning fellow of Yellow Barn, Kneisel Hall and Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival, and has performed with Steven Isserlis, Kim Kashkashian, Itzhak Perlman, Randall Goosby and the Verona Quartet. With support from the 2021 Bita Cattelan Philanthropic Engagement Award from Concours Musical International de Montréal, she is producing a documentary about the effect that Covid had on a group of classical musicians.
Since 2024, she has been studying on Kronberg Academy's Sir András Schiff Performance Programme for Young Pianists. Her studies are funded by the Henle patronage of the Günter Henle Stiftung.
