ERZÄHLUNGEN

Not every form of courage is loud or heroic. Sometimes it lies in tenderness, imagination and the courage to make space for the quiet.

Steven Isserlis, one of the most distinguished cellists of our time, brings together an exceptional chamber ensemble for „Erzählungen“. Together with Pierre Génisson, Irène Duval, Sào Soulez Larivière, Anna Han and Connie Shih, he presents a programme that unfolds like a sequence of musical stories.

Beethoven’s “Gassenhauer Trio” combines playful elegance with instantly memorable melodies. Schumann’s Romances and Fairy Tales open up poetic spaces somewhere between dream and dialogue, while Fauré’s late Piano Trio captivates with its concentrated expressiveness and luminous transparency.

An exquisite evening of chamber music devoted to the art of listening – intimate, richly varied and filled with narrative imagination.
