Izak Nuri
Jerusalem-born cellist Izak Nuri has developed a diverse musical profile as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player, with a particular focus on collaboration and musical dialogue. His performances have taken him across Europe, Asia, and South America, to venues including Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Boulez Saal, Konzerthaus Berlin, and Victoria Hall in Geneva. He has shared the stage with artists including Gidon Kremer, Christian Tetzlaff, Mihaela Martin, Emmanuel Pahud, Antje Weithaas, and the Belcea Quartet, and has appeared at festivals such as Chamber Music Connects the World at Kronberg Academy, Momentum Berlin, Into the Open in Tbilisi, Vivacissimo in Italy, the Corfu International Music Festival, and the Nuits Classiques Festival in France.
Alongside his chamber music activities, Nuri performs regularly with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and Ensemble under the direction of Daniel Barenboim, where collaboration and the exchange of ideas continue to shape his musical perspective.
Nuri is currently pursuing Professional Studies at Kronberg Academy with Prof. Frans Helmerson, following the completion of his Bachelor of Music at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin. Previously, he studied with Prof. Zvi Plesser at the Jerusalem Academy of Music. His musical development has also been enriched through guidance from artists such as Sir András Schiff, Maestro Daniel Barenboim, and the Belcea Quartet.
A prizewinner at international competitions, Nuri was awarded Second Prize at the Antonio Janigro International Cello Competition and the Audience Award at the Aviv Competitions. His studies at Kronberg Academy are made possible through the Christel Gertke and Achim Dombrowski Patronage.
