Evgeny Sinaiski

Evgeny Sinaiski was born into a family of musicians in St Petersburg in 1973 and had his first music lessons in Riga. In 1987 he returned to St Petersburg to study with Marina Wolf. Musicians such as Sofia Wakman, Tamara Fidler and Sergey Uryvaev also had considerable influence on his musical development. Evgeny Sinaiski then continued his studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (Netherlands) with Naum Grubert and graduated with distinction.

He has won numerous international competitions, including the International Shostakovich Chamber Music Competition in Hanover (1997) and, with his duo partner, the violinist Akiko Tanaka, the ARD Music Competition in the category “Violin and Piano Duo” (1998). Evgeny Sinaiski has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and the Latvian State Chamber Orchestra at major venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Concert gebouw in Amsterdam, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg. In 2008 he made his successful debut in the Alte Oper in Frankfurt and in 2010 gave his first performance at the Salzburg Festival.

Evgeny Sinaiski has a professorship for chamber music at the Conservatory in Vienna, teaches at the Folkwang University in Essen and is a tutor and piano partner at various masterclasses, for example at the Mozarteum Summer Academy, the Bavarian Music Academy and the Festival Les Arcs in France.
