The 24-year-old German-Spanish-Malaysian violinist, currently a scholarship holder of the Anne-
Sophie-Mutter and the Gautier Capuçon Foundation, is considered “one of the greatest talents of his
generation” (Anne-Sophie Mutter). As the youngest winner of the 1st Grand Prix and 10 special
prizes at the Int. Karol Lipinski Competition 2019 in Poland, as well as winner of the Int. Valsesia
Musica and Int. Vladimir Spivakov Competition 2021, his playing is characterized by a “sound that
electrifies, that moves.” (Badische Zeitung).


He is a guest at various festivals such as the Lucerne and Gstaad Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein
Music Festival, the Kissinger Musiksommer, the Rheingau Music Festival and the Festspiele
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.


Solo projects in his young career include concerts with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra,
Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, Baden-
Baden Philharmonic, Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, Brandenburger Symphoniker, Freiburg
Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra Japan, Sofia Philharmonic and Budapest
Symphony Orchestra with conductors such as Sascha Goetzel, Vladimir Spivakov, Nayden Todorov,
Ken Takaseki, Fabrice Bollon, Nicolás Pasquet, Heiko Mathias Förster and Ryusuke Numajiri.
 

Together with Anne-Sophie Mutter and “Mutter’s Virtuosi” he appears at international concert
stages (such as Musikverein Wien, Philharmonie Berlin, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Philharmonie
Luxembourg and Roy Thomson Hall Toronto).


Other highlights include his debuts 2025 at Carnegie Hall New York, at the Théâtre des Champs-
Elysées Paris with l‘Orchestre National d’Ile de France, with the Korean Chamber Orchestra in
Seoul, with the North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at Smetana Hall Prague, his debut at the
Tonhalle Zurich in January 2024 with the Zürcher Symphoniker, his debut in 2023 at the
Konzerthaus Vienna (recorded by Medici TV) as part of a tour to Germany, Austria and Bulgaria
with Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, his concerts as a debut
artist at the Nikolaisaal Potsdam 2020-2022 as well as his Japan debuts at the Hitachi Systems Hall
Sendai and Meguro Persimmon Hall Tokyo.


Elias David Moncado’s critically acclaimed debut CD was released in 2022 by Avi-Music with
works by Hindemith, Poulenc and Bartók.


Elias David Moncado developed an intensive concert career while studying with Latica Honda-
Rosenberg, Zakhar Bron, Pierre Amoyal and currently at the Kronberg Academy with Mihaela
Martin. His studies are funded by the Benno and Ursula Stork-Wersborg patronage.


He performs on a collection of fine violins, including a Giovanni Battista Rogeri, Brescia (around
1700), from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben Hamburg, a G.B. Guadagnini, Turin (around 1771)
from a private patron, as well as the 1724 „Ludwig, Ex-Szigeti“ Stradivarius, provided by the
L-Bank Baden-Württemberg.
