Past and future rarely meet as directly as they do in this concert.

For the first time, Avi Avital, one of the world’s leading mandolinists, appears at the Kronberg Festival. Together with Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt and Kremerata Baltica, he embarks on a musical journey spanning almost four centuries – from the dramatic sound world of Biber’s Battalia and Bach’s timeless mastery to the world premiere of Christian Jost’s Seasons.

The concert title „Zeitsprung“ describes far more than a journey through time. It embodies the courage to rethink tradition and allow something new to emerge. In his new composition Seasons, Christian Jost explores themes of nature, transformation and the future of our planet, bringing them together in his unmistakable musical language.
