Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809–1847)
Elijah, Op. 70
This masterpiece of oratorio literature, whose genesis also reaches into the Taunus region, will be performed in Kronberg for the first time.
The oratorio will be preceded by an approximately five-minute prologue for narrator and orchestra, based on a text by Elie Wiesel about the prophet Elijah. Students from Altkönigschule Kronberg, Bischof-Neumann-Schule Königstein, and the Department of Art and Design at August-Bebel-Schule Offenbach will present their artistic interpretations of the prophet in the foyer of the Casals Forum.
