The first evening takes us back to the origins of this musical universe: to the young Beethoven, who is already searching for his own form and language in the early and rarely performed Piano Concerto in E-flat Major, WoO 4. This is contrasted with the Piano Concerto No. 3—a work of great dramatic power and inner tension. Thus, the cycle begins with a striking arc spanning from early experimentation to artistic maturity.
