Musical excursion: “Alla Turca” – an oriental musical fairy tale

The musical fairy tale is told by actors and the Pindakaas Saxophone Quartet. Alla Turca” is about the encounter of the famous musician Franz von Stock with the lively genie Flitzmed and, of course, a lot of classical music on the theme of the Orient.

Künstlerfreundschaften – ein Abend für András Schiff

For 20 years, the pianist András Schiff has been accompanying the Kronberg Academy as an artist, a teacher, the initiator of the Sir András Schiff Performance Programme for Young Pianists, an artistic advisor, and as a friend. He has just celebrated his 70th birthday. However, this is just one reason to celebrate this artistic friendship with a concert evening for András Schiff together with our young soloists and with you! According to his wishes. The proceeds will benefit the Sir András Schiff Fund for the promotion of young pianists.

Several times a month, renowned artists come to the Casals Forum to work with our students in “internal masterclasses.” Reinhard Goebel, the legendary founder of Musica Antiqua Köln and Harnoncourt’s successor as professor of historical performance practice at the Salzburg Mozarteum, immerses our students in the world of Baroque music for three days. An orchestra is even formed during this time. We want to hear the results! – and we can, as this concert serves as the culmination.

Just a few days before the first lockdown in New York in 2020, the Kronberg Academy was “on tour” in Carnegie Hall for the first time with its students. Now, it’s finally happening again! Violist and professor Tabea Zimmermann has prepared a program with five of our students and alumni that they will perform together in February. But before the New York audience, our friends in Kronberg will be the first to hear it!
